Greenland Sewer Force Main Installation Project
Project Objective
A contractor working for JEA (TB Landmark) is currently installing a new sanitary sewer force main from the Greenland Water Reclamation Facility to the Nocatee area.
JEA is installing this force main in to ensure the reliability of the JEA sewer system and to provide for future growth in the area. Sanitary sewer force mains are pressurized sewer pipes used to transport sewage to JEA wastewater treatment plants.
Estimated Completion Date: Spring 2024*

Construction Conditions
Construction is taking place in the City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, temporary lane closures will be required along the project route while the new sewer main is installed. Please see the work area map below.
Residents, businesses and their customers will have access to and will be permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area, Please observe all signs and general instructions provided by the crews working on-site. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this work.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin soon after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
Project Update - Restoration of the Project Area & Temporary Overnight Lane Closures
As with all JEA construction projects, restoration of the project area begins once the new lines have been installed, tested and cleared for use.
Pipe installation activities have been completed. Currently, the barrier wall removal and final paving of the roadway are scheduled to be completed in late June 2023 (date is highly subject to change).
For the safety of crews and the general public, we will be required to temporarily close one lane of traffic along US-1 while paving of the roadway is completed. The temporary lane closures will take place overnight, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. beginning June 14th through June 21st.
While restoration of the project area is completed, there will be limited (visual) construction activities between now and the estimated project completion date in Spring 2024.
