Monument Road Emergency Sewer Repair Project
Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2019-10-11
Roads Affected
Atrium Way, Monument Road, Tredinick Parkway
Project Objective
As of October 11, 2019, crews have completed work to replace a failing sanitary sewer main located near 653 Monument Road. Failures to sewer mains can potentially cause sewer back-ups and roadway issues. Final restoration of the project area will take place in the coming weeks.
Meridian Apartments - Project Update - September 27, 2019
While making repairs to the failing sanitary sewer main near 653 Monument Road, we discovered additional repairs are needed to the portion of the pipe running beneath Monument Road extending to the entrance for the Meridian Apartments.
JEA’s contractor (TB Landmark Construction, Inc.) repaired this portion of pipe using the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) method of construction. Directional drilling, or HDD, is a steerable, trenchless method of installing underground pipes. Watch a video about the HDD process.
For the safety of our crews and the general public, we were required to temporarily close the entrance of the Meridian Apartments. Traffic was temporarily required to enter and exit the complex through the exit lane from Monday, September 30th through Friday, October 4th.
We apologize in advance for delays caused by this work. Please see the temporary detour map below.
Construction Conditions
For the safety of our crews and the general public, we will be required to temporarily close an detour all southbound lanes of Monument Road between Tredinick Parkway and Atrium Way until Friday, October 11th.
Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the JEA crews working on site. We apologize in advance for any delays caused by this project.
