Pangola Drive Water Improvement Project

Project Objective
As part of the Small Diameter
Pipe Replacement Project to modernize more than 200 miles of JEA’s existing
potable water distribution system. JEA crews will soon begin a project in your
area to replace and upgrade portions of the water lines on Pangola Drive from
Kingsbury Street to Plymouth Street, Alpha Avenue from Lake Shore Boulevard to
Ellis Road South, Orton Street from Alpha Avenue to Plymouth Street, and Ellis
Road South from Alpha Avenue to Plymouth Street.
This section of water main is approaching the end of its useful service life
and is being proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA water
system in the area. This work also includes the installation of four (4) new
fire hydrants. When completed, this project will provide increased water
pressure, enhanced fire protection and improved system reliability.
Construction Areas
Work will primarily occur in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements.
Construction Conditions
Residents will be provided access to their driveways and will be permitted to drive (with caution) around the work area. However, street parking may be limited and driveways may be temporarily blocked during construction (see map below). Crews will notify residents by knocking on the door prior to blocking any driveway.
Planned Water Outages
Some customers may experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers at least 48 hours prior to any planned water outages.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
