Project Objective
As part of the Small Diameter
Pipe Replacement Project to modernize more than 200 miles of JEA’s existing
potable water distribution system. JEA crews replaced and upgraded portions of the water lines on Pangola Drive from
Kingsbury Street to Plymouth Street, Alpha Avenue from Lake Shore Boulevard to
Ellis Road South, Orton Street from Alpha Avenue to Plymouth Street, and Ellis
Road South from Alpha Avenue to Plymouth Street.
This section of water main had approached the end of its useful service life
and was proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA water
system in the area. This work also included the installation of four (4) new
fire hydrants. This project will provide increased water
pressure, enhanced fire protection and improved system reliability.
Construction Areas
Construction primarily occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way, roads, and easements.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
