Project Objective
JEA crews are continuing work to replace the existing water main on Jasmine Place from Edgewood Avenue South to College Street. This section of water line has reached the end of its useful service life and must be proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the water system that serves your neighborhood. This work also includes the installation of a new fire hydrant. When completed, this project will provide increased water pressure, improved system reliability and enhanced fire protection to the area.
**The second phase of this project has been postponed until further notice due to a sanitary sewer line repair project can be completed. An updated email notification will be provided prior to start of construction.
Construction Conditions
For the safety of our crews and the general public, Jasmine Place will be temporarily closed to thru traffic while this work is being completed. Temporary road closures may also be required on Edgewood Avenue South near the intersection of Edgewood Avenue South and Jasmine Place, when crews install the new piping across the road and tie the new water main into the existing water main. Please see a map of the project area below.
Residents will be provided access to homes and permitted to drive (with caution) within the work area. Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the crews working on-site.
Temporary Road Closure & Detour - Edgewood Avenue South at Jasmine Place - May 16-May 19
For the safety of our crews and the general public, we will be required to temporarily close and detour traffic on Edgewood Avenue South near Jasmine Place while the new water main is installed across the roadway. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) will be on-site to assist with traffic on Edgewood Avenue South at the intersection of Jasmine Place. Jasmine Place between Edgewood Avenue South and College Street will be closed to thru traffic.
Residents, businesses and their customers along Jasmine Place will have access to their homes and businesses, and will be permitted to drive (with caution) within this portion of the project area. This work is being completed overnight to avoid peak traffic periods.
EDGEWOOD
AVENUE SOUTH – JASMINE PLACE – TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE & DETOUR:
Anticipated Road Closure Start: Tuesday, May 17th at 8:00 p.m.*
Estimated Road Closure Completion: Thursday, May 19th at 6:00 a.m.*
*In the event of poor weather or other unforeseen circumstances, this road closure will be rescheduled for the following night.

Project Map
Planned Water Outages
Some customers may experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers at least 48-hours prior to any planned water outages. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by this construction work.
Restoration of Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin after the new water main has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned pre-construction condition.
