All 10,000 Utility Relief Prepaid Cards Claimed

Jacksonville, FL - As of this morning, applications for the City of Jacksonville COVID-19 Utility Relief Program prepaid debit cards have closed. The application for the last card was received at 7:23 a.m.
Each of the 10,000 prepaid debit cards has a value of $200 to be used to help eligible customers in the payment of their utility bill. As outlined by the city, to be eligible, customers must:
- Be a resident of Duval County
- Have experienced a reduction in work hours or reduction in pay by 25 percent or more as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic
- Have a delinquent JEA bill
- Have not received any other COJ COVID-19 assistance
JEA customers who met these guidelines were notified in advance via email, physical mail and automated voice calls that the application process would begin via jea.com at noon on July 2, 2020. Record numbers of visits to the website, as well as calls into the JEA call center were received on that day.
