Project Objective
As part of the Galvanized Pipe Replacement Program to modernize more than 200 miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system, JEA crews replaced and upgraded the existing water main on Antisdale Street from Ingleside Avenue to just west of Edgewood Avenue, Ingleside Avenue from Post Street to Antisdale Street, and Talbot Avenue from Post Street to Mayflower Street.
These sections of pipe had reached the end of their useful service lives and were proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the water and sewer system that serves the neighborhood. This work also included the installation of one (1) new fire hydrant.
This project will provide increased water pressure, improved water system reliability and enhanced fire protection to the area.
Construction Conditions
Construction primarily occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way, roads, and easements.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the new water main has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
