Argyle Forest Boulevard and Rampart Road Sewer Improvement Project
Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2020-04-30
Start and completion dates are highly subject to change.
Project Objective
A contractor (Ortega Industrial Contractors) working for JEA has completed a project to upgrade an existing sewer pump station at 8104 Argyle Forest Boulevard and construct a new sewer booster pump station at 7806 Rampart Road. Construction included installing a permanent bypass system at the Argyle Forest Boulevard location in order to help move wastewater during the project to the new booster station on Rampart Road.
Sewer pump stations are used for pumping wastewater from lower elevations to nearby gravity sewer lines. Sewer booster pump stations are designed to boost the pressure of wastewater within a pipeline along to nearby sewer gravity mains, which is then transported to sewer treatment facilities. The upgraded pump station and new booster station will create better sewer service reliability and assist with future growth in the area.
Construction Conditions
Work took place in the City rights-of-way and easements.
Restoration of Project Area
Restoration of the project area began after the construction at the sanitary sewer pump station and booster stations was, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction were returned to pre-construction condition.
