Bartram Electric Improvement Project

Estimated Dates & Work Schedule

Anticipated Start Date: 2016-11-02
Anticipated End Date: 2016-12-20

This project has been completed. Below is the information provided to customers prior to the project start date.

Project Objective

We know that electric service interruptions can be frustrating. That’s why, over the next few months, a contractor working for JEA will be in your neighborhood working to upgrade our electric service to the Bartram Springs subdivision. The JEA contractor will be installing a new electric feeder cable into the existing underground PVC conduit system originally installed by your developer. Once installed, this new cable will create a loop that will allow us to back feed your subdivision should there be any future isolated electric outages. This new cable will also help to improve the power reinstatement faster than the current configuration (should such an outage incident occur).

Construction Conditions

The majority of this work will take place along Cherry Lake Drive East and north from 14643 Cherry Lake Drive East to Alderfer Springs Drive. Most of the construction activities will occur at the 10 electric manholes which are usually located in the City of Jacksonville right‐of‐way portion of some properties, usually closer to the sidewalk or road. This will involve driving work trucks onto driveways and/or grassed areas to pump out manholes (water) and pull in the new cables with winches.

Restoration of Project Area

Any grass, concrete, asphalt, or sprinklers damaged during the work will be replaced at the completion of the project. Learn more about JEA site restoration.
