Project Objective
A contractor working for JEA (Ferreira Construction Company) upgraded the existing sanitary sewer pump station located at 9247 Baymeadows Road.
The objective of this project was to build a new pump station that upgraded the station’s components to accommodate future growth in the area. Sanitary sewer pump stations are designed to collect wastewater from gravity sewer mains which is then transported to our sewer treatment facilities. This project will ensure the reliability of the sanitary sewer system that serves the neighborhood.
Construction Conditions
Construction primarily occurred on JEA property and in City of Jacksonville roads, rights-of-way and utility easements.
Western Way Paving - March 1 - March 2, 2025
A contractor working for JEA (Ferreira Construction) recently completed work on a project to replace and upgrade portions of the sewer lines and manholes near 8475 Western Way.
The paving subcontractor (All Pro Asphalt) will be returning to the area to complete the final milling and resurfacing on Western Way. For the safety of crews and the public, the contractor will be required to temporarily close and detour traffic on Western Way between Arby’s and Bank of America while paving is completed. Please see the paving work area map below for further details.
We request that residents and/or businesses within the paving boundaries remove all vehicles, equipment and trash receptacles until the paving operation is complete. Residents and/or businesses in the immediate area will have limited access to their street and driveways during paving operations. Any vehicles left on the street may be towed.

JEA encourages drivers to plan for traffic delays in this area. Residents and/or businesses will have access to their properties and will be permitted to drive (with caution) around the project work area. Please observe all construction signs, detours and general directions provided by the crews working on-site.

This work will not affect your normal water, sewer and/or electric service.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
