Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2014-09-30
Roads Affected
Project Objective
A contractor (TB Landmark Construction) working for JEA will be installing a new 36-inch sanitary sewer force main along Busch Drive from Interstate 95 (I-95) northbound on-ramp to the intersection of Main Street and Busch Drive (CSX right of way).
Sanitary sewer force mains are pressurized pipes used to transport sewage to waste water treatment plants. Once completed, this sewer force main will serve many area homes and businesses as well as provide capacity for future growth in northern Duval County.
Busch Drive Turn-Lane Closures
Construction will primarily occur within the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) rights of way, roads and easements. The contractor will be required to temporarily close three island turn lanes along Busch Drive at Balmoral Drive, Dundas Drive, and at the Anheuser Busch main employee and public entrance as the work progresses. These closures are necessary for the installation of the pipe and for the safety of workers and the general public.
The three island turn lanes that will be impacted during construction are heavily used by Anheuser Busch (shipping and receiving, credit union, employee and general public parking), Busch Drive Business Park, U.S. Postal Service, Region’s Bank, and Sam’s Club. Only one island turn lane will be closed at any given time during construction. Detour traffic will be routed to Main Street North and Busch Drive East where vehicles can safely make a U-turn back on to Busch Drive.
Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the construction crews working onsite. Commuters should anticipate traffic delays and plan accordingly. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience and any delays caused by this work.
