Project Objective

The Cecil Commerce Center Water Treatment Plant, located at 13709 Waterworks Street, Jacksonville, FL 32221, was constructed in 2004 to support initial development of the Cecil Commerce Center and the expanding southwestern portion of JEA’s North water grid.

A recent review at the facility by our engineers determined that the current water treatment facility is nearing the end of its service life and should be upgraded and replaced accordingly. The project includes the construction of an additional 2.0 million gallon (2 MG) water storage reservoir with tray aerator, an upgrade of three existing 200 HP high service pump starters with new variable frequency drives (VFDs), and the installation of one new 150 HP high service pump & associated new VFD, and other facility improvements.

Construction Conditions

During this project, most of the construction will take place behind the fenced areas of the plant and equipment traffic will be confined to Waterworks Street to access the facility. This project will include the demolition and construction of several components behind the fenced areas of the facility.
