Project Objective
The City of Jacksonville is continuing construction on an infrastructure improvement project to replace the existing bridge and sidewalks on Lakeside Drive.
As part of this project, a contractor working for JEA (JB Coxwell) will be required to relocate water and sanitary sewer lines that conflict with the new bridge piling work and other proposed improvements.
Construction Conditions
Construction will occur in the City’s rights of way and easements. A sewer bypass pump system will be installed to ensure the flow of wastewater during construction.
The bridge crossing on Lakeside Drive will be closed for the duration of the project. For the safety of crews and the general public, please follow all construction signs, detours and general instructions provided by the crew on site. Please plan ahead for traffic delays.
Water Outages
Some customers will experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers 48 hours prior to any planned outages. Residents may also experience a brief (10 to 15 minutes) outage while crews transfer customers from the old water service to the new water service.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will be performed by COJ following completion of the project.
