Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2020-10-18
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. NOTE: In some circumstances, extended hours and evenings will be required. JEA crews will not work on City of Jacksonville holidays (9/7/20).
Project Objective
JEA crews replaced a portion of failing sanitary sewer main line on Dellwood Avenue between West Street and Acosta Street. This pipe had reached the end of its service life and required replacement to increase the reliability of the sewer system and to prevent future sewer main breaks. Failures to sanitary sewer lines can lead to sewer back-ups and roadway issues.
Construction Conditions
Construction occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, JEA was required to temporarily close and detour Dellwood Avenue between West Street and Acosta Street. Residents had access to their homes and were be permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area.

Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area takes place in the 2-3 weeks following the water main improvements. Any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways, or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to their pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
