Project Objective
A contractor working for JEA (Petticoat-Schmitt Civil Contractors, Inc.) repaired a portion of the sanitary sewer main near 7215 Financial Way (within the parking lot of Fanatics). These repairs were necessary to ensure the reliability of the JEA sewer system in the area. Failures to sewer mains can potentially cause sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.
Construction Conditions
Construction primarily occurred in the City of Jacksonville rights-of-way, roads and easements. Residents and businesses had access and were permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area.
Restoration of Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the sewer main has been repaired, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
