Project Objective
JEA crews upgraded the water main on Greenfern Lane from Rogero Road to Townsend Boulevard. This project will provide improved water pressure and system reliability. Crews also installed 9 new fire hydrants to improve fire protection in the area.
Construction Conditions
Construction occurred in the City of Jacksonville rights of way, roads and easements. The contractor was required to temporarily close portions of Greenfern Lane to thru-traffic to complete the installation of the new water main. There was also times when the intersections of Greenfern Lane at Rogero Road and Greenfern Lane at Townsend Boulevard were closed.
Water Outages
Some customers will experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers 48 hours prior to any planned outages. Residents may also experience a brief (10 to 15 minutes) outage while crews transfer your home from the old water service to the new water service.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin once the water lines are installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
