Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2019-07-31
Project Objective
JEA received several complaints regarding odors associated with the wastewater pumping station located at 11305 Harts Road. Due to rapid population growth in the area, our wastewater system has experienced increased amounts of flow to this particular pump station. Unfortunately, the additional flow into this facility could not be adequately handled by the existing odor control system.
Beginning March 1, 2016, we began installing additional technology that will enhance the existing odor control system’s performance. This should result in an immediate reduction of odors coming from the pump station on Harts Road.
Secondly, JEA has started the planning, budgeting and engineering required for several construction projects that will substantially reduce the amount of wastewater flow to the Harts Road pump station. Although these projects, when completed, will help reduce flow to the Harts Road pump station, most of the construction will occur throughout our Northside service area, not necessarily directly in your neighborhood.
