Project Objective

A contractor working for JEA (Baldwin’s Quality Plumbing) completed a project to install approximately 1,500 linear feet of new 8-inch PVC water transmission main along Mandarin Road between St. Lawrence Way and Providence Hollow Lane. This new line created a "loop" of the JEA water system that will result in increased water system reliability, improved water pressure and additional fire protection for the area.

During the project design phase, JEA contacted residents within the project boundary to inform them of the project, and offer information on how to connect to the new water line once installed.

Construction Areas

The new water main was installed on the north side of Mandarin Road, from Providence Hollow Lane to just before Mandarin Estates Drive. The line then crosses to the south side of Mandarin Road, then along Mandarin Road to just before St. Lawrence Way (please see work area map below).

Construction Conditions

Construction activities took place in the City of Jacksonville’s rights-of-way and easements.

Restoration of the Project Area

Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the new water main has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction is returned to its pre-construction condition.
