Project Objective
The City of Jacksonville is experiencing record growth especially in the Southside around the Mayo Clinic and J. Turner Butler Boulevard corridor. In order to keep up with the electric demand and maintain the reliability of our electric system, JEA is continuously investing in projects to upgrade and expand our electrical grid.
JEA completed construction on the new Mayo Electric Substation, which is located at (13945 WM Davis Parkway) just off WM Davis Parkway West.
This new substation will substantially improve the reliability of the electrical system in the area, as well as reduce the chances of overloading a circuit which can lead to unplanned power outages.
Construction Conditions
Construction primarily occurred on JEA property.
