Nira Street Sewer Improvement Project

Project Objective
JEA recently completed work in your area to rehabilitate the 48” diameter sanitary sewer main and associated manholes located on Nira Street between Naldo Avenue and Kings Road and along a portion of Kings Road. This large trunk sanitary sewer line reached the end of its useful service life and was rehabilitated to ensure the reliability of sewer service.
This infrastructure is critical for serving the San Marco/Southbank areas with an estimated 10-million gallons of flow per day at peak flow capacity. Failures to sewer mains can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.

Construction Conditions
Work primarily occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and utility easements. Please see the project work area and detour map below.
