Old Plank Road Pole Relocation Project

Estimated Dates & Work Schedule

Anticipated Start Date: 2018-09-10
Anticipated End Date: 2019-07-31

NOTE: Anticipated start and end dates are highly subject to change.

Roads Affected

Bea Lane, Halsema Road North, Old Plank Road

Project Objective

JEA crews have completed the work necessary to relocate the existing power poles to accommodate a City of Jacksonville drainage project along Old Plank Road from Bea Lane to Halsema Road North. Once the other utility lines have been relocated to the new poles (AT&T, Bellsouth, Comcast) JEA crews will return to remove the old poles.

Construction Areas

Once the joint utility users (AT&T, Bellsouth and Comcast) have moved their lines to the new poles, JEA crews will return to remove the old poles. Work will occur primarily within the City’s right-of-way and easements along Old Plank Road. This work will require several pieces of equipment to be set up in the immediate area, as well as several large trucks parked along the street during construction. We will make every effort to ensure that access to the road and your home is maintained.

Construction Conditions

JEA tree contractors were required to complete some tree trimming and removals prior to electric crews performing the pole relocations.

Restoration of Project Area

Restoration of the project area will begin after the electric lines have been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any areas disturbed by JEA during our construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.

City of Jacksonville Future Drainage Project

The City of Jacksonville (COJ) will be developing a new lateral ditch and wetland area north of Old Plank Road. The project objective is to re-establish and improve the existing roadside drainage ditches and swales.
