POW-MIA Memorial Parkway Water Improvement Project
Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2023-05-31
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.*
*In some circumstances, extended hours and weekends were necessary.
Project Objective
A contractor working for JEA (T.G. Utility Company) completed work in your area to install approximately 10,000 linear feet of water transmission main line on POW-MIA Memorial Parkway (formerly known as New World Avenue) between Waterworks Street and Tea Crates Place. This new line created a "loop" of the JEA water system that resulted in increased water system reliability, improved water pressure, and additional fire protection for the area.
Construction Conditions
Work primarily took place in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements, and there were no road closures or detours during this project. Please see the work area map below.

Planned Water Outages
Some customers may have experienced minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers at least 48 hours prior to any planned water outages. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this construction work.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area began after the new water main was installed, tested, and cleared for use. Any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, and sidewalks affected during construction was returned to its pre-construction condition.
