Project Objective

Working in partnership with the City of Jacksonville, a contractor working for JEA installed a new potable water line in the neighborhood along Rogers Avenue. The funding for this project was being provided by the City of Jacksonville.

Contractor crews installed a new 8-inch water line in the City right-of-way along Rogers Avenue from Gibson Avenue to Ridge Road. The work included the installation of a new water line and new fire hydrants.

Connecting to the JEA Water System

Property owners interested in obtaining water service will be responsible for paying all JEA connection fees, on-site plumbing costs and obtaining associated permits required to make the connection from individual homes to JEA’s water line located in the right-of-way. JEA will install a new tap, individual water service and meter once connection fees are paid. More information will be provided by JEA to eligible property owners once the water line has been installed and cleared for use.

Access the JEA Residential Service Application.

Construction Conditions

Construction occurred in the City’s rights of way and easements. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curbs, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
