Project Objective
In preparation for a future City of Jacksonville drainage project, JEA crews will be abandoning the existing 8-inch water main located on Tampico Road. Customers that are currently served by this water main will be switched over to the existing 16-inch water main.
When completed, this project will increase water pressure, and provide better system reliability.
Construction Conditions
Construction will be done in the City’s rights of way and easements. There will be times when your road will have limited access while the water main is being installed. JEA will maintain the flow of traffic, although residents may experience some minor delays.
Planned Water Outages
Some customers will experience minor interruptions to their water service. JEA will notify customers 48 hours prior to any planned outages. Residents may also experience a brief (10 to 15 minutes) outage while crews transfer your home from the old water service to the new water service.
Restoration of Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin once the water lines are installed and have been tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
