Van Gundy Road Sewer Improvement Project Phase 2

This project has been completed. Below is the information provided to customers prior to the project start date. 

Due to recent issues related to sanitary sewer back-ups and overflows on Van Gundy Road, JEA crews will be installing individual backflow prevention devices on individual sewer laterals as a precaution to avoid any possibility of future sewer back ups. JEA engineers are currently investigating and planning a long term solution to correct the issue. 

Conditions During Construction

Construction will occur in the City’s streets, rights-of-way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public. 
Impacted residents will be notified in advance of construction in front of their home, and installation should take no more than 2-hours. We ask that customers refrain from using water during this time. 

Restoration of Project Area 

Temporary restoration of the project area will begin soon after the backflow devices have been installed. Upon completion of the work, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
