Virgo Street Emergency Sewer Repair Project

Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2018-07-31
Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
NOTE: Completion date is subject to change and in some circumstances night and weekend work hours may be necessary.
Project Objective
JEA crews repaired a failing sanitary sewer manhole near the intersection of Virgo Street and Libra Street. Failures to sewer manholes can potentially cause major sewer back-ups and roadway issues. For the safety of our crew, this work required the removal of ground water with pump systems prior to construction. These pump systems operated continuously during the repairs.
Construction Conditions
Construction will occur in the City’s streets, rights of way and easements. Residents will be permitted to drive with caution through the construction area. Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the JEA crews working onsite. We apologize in advance for delays caused by this work.
Restoration of Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin after the sewer manhole has been repaired, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
