JEA offers free tours, designed to educate our customers about how our various plants operate. Please note: there is a 5 person minimum in order to conduct a JEA facility tour.

  • Northside Generating Station: Large base-load plants that burn coal, pet coke, oil, and/or diesel.

  • Main Street Lab and Water Plant: Attendees can see both a working water plant and our environment lab. 
    First Street and Main Street
  • Ridenour Water Plant: Water plant and central water/sewer control center. 
    Kernan Boulevard, north of Atlantic Boulevard

Tour Request Information

  If other, please indicate exact number of attendees in group: 

* Note: Weekends and holidays are unavailable for tours. Refer to Solar Farm Schedule for available dates for those locations. Please provide us with at least two weeks' notice. 

* Note: Average Tour Length - 1.5 Hours

* Note: If Elementary Students and/or Middle School Students age group is checked, default facility to Main Street Lab only.

 

 


Program Guidelines

Eligibility Requirements
The JEA Ambassador Advisory Committee will consider projects submitted by any organization, school, group, agency, church, homeowner’s association, etc., that meet the following criteria:

• Received a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the date of the event (Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the Ambassador Advisory Committee).
• The event or activity must allow for Ambassadors to engage, educate, or provide information to JEA customers
• Must be within JEA service territory or a location where JEA customers will be or could potentially attend
• Certain events or activities must have a minimum number of attendees, for it to be worthwhile for JEA team members, who are taking time away from normal work responsibilities (i.e., Facility Tours must have a minimum of 5 attendees)

Cancellation Policy
JEA is committed to serving our customers and the community and will do our best to fulfill scheduled activities. However, it may be necessary to postpone or cancel said activities due to circumstances beyond the Company’s control. JEA reserves the right to cancel events for reasons they deem necessary, including but not limited to:

• Work related demands
• Inclement weather
• Natural disaster
• Fire
• Destruction
• War
• Governmental order
• Quarantine
• Administrative evacuation (i.e., bomb threats)
• Safety concerns (for employees or others)
• Any other forces or events outside of the Company’s control

Application Process
Request forms will be received and initially reviewed by the Community Engagement Coordinator. If they meet the basic criteria, they will then be forwarded to the JEA Employee Ambassador Advisory Committee for further review. All applicants will be notified of the acceptance/declination of their request within 2 - 4 days of being reviewed.

JEA reserves the right to decline any requests that the JEA Employee Ambassador Advisory Committee feels is unsafe, offensive or does not agree with the Mission, Values and Goals of JEA. As well as any organization that discriminates based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability or veteran status or any organization that conducts itself in an unethical, illegal, or immoral manner.
