JEA Earns Reliable Power Recognition
2012-05-01
Jacksonville, FL - JEA has earned the Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3®) recognition from the American Public Power Association for providing consumers with the highest degree of reliable and safe electric service. JEA is one of 176 of the nation’s more than 2,000 public power utilities to earn the prestigious award.
The RP3 designation recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement. Criteria within each category are based on sound business practices and represent a utility-wide commitment to safe and reliable delivery of electricity.
“Receiving the RP3 designation means a lot to us,” said Mike Brost, JEA’s Electric Systems Vice President. “It speaks volumes about the great work performed here every day by our excellent employees and managers. It’s an honor to be recognized by our peers on a national level for the work we are doing here locally in Jacksonville.”
This is the seventh year that RP3 recognition has been offered. APPA is the national organization representing more than 2,000 not-for-profit, community- and state- owned electric utilities. It is located in Washington, D.C.
JEA is the seventh-largest community-owned electric utility in the United States and one of the largest water and sewer utilities in the nation providing electric, water and sewer service to residents in northeast Florida.
