JEA Joins Green Button
2012-10-01
Jacksonville, FL - JEA is joining utilities across the nation in the voluntary, industry-led Green Button initiative. The Green Button Download My Data tool is a new program being offered in response to a White House call-to-action to provide electric customers easy access to their energy use data.
In early 2013, JEA customers using the Green Button Download My Data tool will be able to securely download their own energy usage data and if they choose, provide it to third parties they trust who offer applications and tools to help customers manage their energy use.
Concurrently, JEA will have available to its customers who log in on jea.com, “My JEA Utility Tracker,” a portal that allows customers to view daily and hourly electric use and daily water usage. The Tracker will offer specific savings recommendations based on a customer’s home and utility usage.
These tools allow JEA customers to understand their energy use, and as a result make informed decisions about their energy use.
JEA is the seventh-largest community-owned electric utility in the United States and one of the largest water and sewer utilities in the nation providing electric, water and sewer service to residents and businesses in northeast Florida.
