Traffic Alert for Atlantic Boulevard

Jacksonville, FL - A contractor (JB Coxwell Contracting, Inc.) working for JEA will be required to close the two eastbound lanes of traffic and a turn lane on Atlantic Boulevard, just west of Southside Boulevard in the Regency area. This 24-hour work is tentatively scheduled to start on Friday, March 15 at 9 p.m. and is expected to be completed by Monday, March 18 at 5 a.m.
Commuters will be detoured from Atlantic Boulevard to Corporate Square Boulevard, continuing to Bradley Road and Southside Boulevard, then back to Atlantic Boulevard. The Jacksonville Sherriff’s Office (JSO) will be present to assist with traffic control on Bradley Road and Southside Boulevard. Electronic message boards have been placed notifying commuters of this closure.
JEA will also be required to close the two westbound traffic lanes during the same time period the following week, March 22 – March 25, using a similar detour which will route traffic headed westbound on Atlantic Boulevard at Southside Boulevard to Bradley Road, continuing to Corporate Square Boulevard and back to Atlantic Boulevard.

This work is part of JEA’s Total Water Management Plan (TWMP) project, which involves building a pipeline to transfer water from the west side of the St. Johns River to the east side of the river through the Arlington area, ending near Bradley Road and Cortez Road.
