Project Objective
As part of the Galvanized Pipe Replacement Program to modernize more than 200 miles of JEA’s existing potable water distribution system, a contractor working for JEA (United Brothers Development) replaced and upgraded portions of the water lines on Woodlawn Avenue, Osceola Street, Claude Street, Calvin Street, Clemente Drive, Lewis Street, Goodwin Street and Lime Street.
These pipes had approached the end of their useful service lives and were proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA water system in the area. This project will provide increased water pressure, enhanced fire protection and improved system reliability.
Construction Conditions
Construction primarily occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way, roads, and easements.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
