118th Street Sewer Pump Station Improvement Project
Project Objective
A contractor working for JEA (Petticoat-Schmitt) is close to completing the upgrade and rehabilitation of the existing sanitary sewer pump station located at 5104 118th Street near Ringhaver Park. This project includes replacing the valving and piping at the station, upgrading the electrical components of the facility, and upgrading the building’s exterior when completed.
This project is necessary to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves your neighborhood. Failures to sewer systems can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.

Construction Conditions
Work is occurring within City of
Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements, and primarily on the pump station
property. The final phase of the work involves site restoration and includes the installation of a new guardrail and curbing per City of Jacksonville standards near the front of the JEA sewer pump station facility.
TRAFFIC ALERT - Temporary Road Closure on Ortega Farms Boulevard at 118th Street
For the safety of crews and the general public, we will be required to temporarily close and detour traffic on Ortega Farms Boulevard from 110th Street to 118th Street, and 118th Street from Ortega Farms Boulevard to Catoma Street while the sewer bypass line is removed. Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will occur after these upgrades have been completed. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
