Project Objective

JEA crews replaced an existing segment of water main on 29th Street West from the intersection of Wood Creek Lane and Oak Arbor Road to the dead end of 29th Street West, and on N Davis Street extending down to the dead end of 30th Street West (see work area map below). These pipes had reached the end of their useful service lives and needed to be proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the JEA water system in the area. This work also included the installation of two (2) new fire hydrants. When completed, this project will increase water pressure, provide improved system reliability and enhanced fire protection to the area.

Construction Conditions

Construction primarily occurred in the City of Jacksonville rights of way, roads and easements.

Restoration of the Project Area

Restoration of the project area will typically begin 2-3 weeks after the new sewer line has been installed, tested and cleared for use.  Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
