Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2019-03-22
Regular work hours: Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
NOTE: Start and completion dates are subject to change and in some circumstances, night and weekend work hours may be necessary.
Project Objective
JEA crews upgraded the sewer pump station located at 125 Afton Lane. This station is responsible for pumping wastewater from the neighborhood to the nearby Julington Creek Plantation Wastewater Treatment Facility.
The project involved replacing the pumps and equipment at the existing station. In order to complete this work, JEA crews were required to install a temporary, bypass piping system to remove the wastewater from the manhole located in the middle of the road on Afton Lane.
Construction Conditions
Construction will occur in the City’s streets, rights of way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, one lane of Afton Lane, near the pump station located at 125 Afton Lane, will be temporarily closed while the work is being completed.
Residents will be permitted to drive with caution through the construction area. Please observe all construction signs and general directions provided by the JEA crews working onsite. We apologize in advance for delays caused by this work.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will commence once all construction activities have been completed. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
