Allendale Sewer Improvement Project
Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2022-06-30
Monday through Friday, 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.*
*In some circumstances, extended hours and weekends may be required.
Project Objective
A contractor working for JEA (Engineered Spray Solutions) rehabilitated multiple aging sanitary sewer manholes on Melson Avenue between W. 5th Street and W. 20th Street.
These manholes had to be proactively rehabilitated to ensure continued reliability of the sewer system that serves your neighborhood. Failures to sewer manholes can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.
This work was completed overnight (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.) to avoid school hours and peak traffic periods.
Construction Conditions
Work primarily occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin after the sewer repairs have been completed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
