Project Objective
JEA crews replaced a failing sanitary sewer manhole located on the intersection of Altama Road and Acapulco Road. This repair was necessary to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves the neighborhood. Failures to sewer manholes can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.
Construction Conditions
For the safety of our crews and the general public, we were required to temporarily detour traffic around the work area. Residents had access to their homes and were permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area (please see work area map below).
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the project has been completed. Any existing grass, sprinklers, pavement, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
