Ashford Street Sewer Improvement Project
Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2020-09-18
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. NOTE: In some circumstances, evening hours and weekends may be necessary. JEA crews will not work on City of Jacksonville holidays (9/7/20).
Project Objective
JEA crews replaced a failing sanitary sewer line and manhole located near 724 Ashford Street between Burton Avenue and Fraleigh Avenue. Failures to sewer lines and manholes can potentially cause major sewer back-ups and overflows, roadway issues and/or sinkholes if not addressed in a timely manner.
Construction Conditions
For the safety of our crews and the general public, we were required to temporarily close and detour a portion of Ashford Street while this work was being completed. Residents had access to their homes and were permitted to drive (with caution) within the project area (please see work area map below).
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area begins in the 2-3 weeks following the sewer line and manhole repairs. Any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways, or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to their pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
