Project Objective
JEA crews replaced a failing sanitary sewer manhole located at the intersection of Bacall Road and Bonnelly Drive. This repair was necessary to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves the neighborhood. Failures to sewer manholes can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.
Construction Conditions
Construction occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements. For the safety of crews and the general public, we were required to temporarily detour traffic around the work area (see map below). Residents had access to their homes and motorists were permitted to drive (with caution) within work area.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the sewer manhole has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
