Barkwood Drive Emergency Sewer Improvement Project
Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2016-12-23
This project has been completed. Below is the information provided to customers.
Project Objective
JEA crews are currently making repairs to two failing sanitary sewer manholes located near 6843 Barkwood Drive and at the intersection of Barkwood Drive and Fruitwood Lane. As these manholes are very deep, this work will require the removal of ground water with a pump system prior to the pipe installation.
Conditions During Construction
Construction will occur in the City’s streets, rights-of-way and easements. There will be some noise associated with the dewatering pumps. Removing ground water prior to excavation is necessary for the safety of our crews. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Road Closures and Detours
For the safety of our crews and the general public, the intersection of Barkwood Drive and Fruitwood Lane to 6843 Barkwood Drive will be closed to through traffic during construction. Please observe all construction signs, detours, and general directions provided by the JEA crews working onsite. We apologize in advance for delays caused by this work.
Restoration of Project Area:
Restoration of the project area will begin after the sewer main has been installed and the dewatering system removed. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
