Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2016-12-05
This project has been completed.
Project Objective
JEA has completed repairs to a failing sanitary sewer manhole located at 10828 Burnt Mill Road.
Project Update - December 5, 2016
Burnt Mill Road has been reopened to following the manhole repair at 10828 Burnt Mill Road. JEA will return at a later date to repair a liner in another nearby manhole located in the sidewalk and not in danger of failure at this time.
Road Detours
Due to the location and depth of the manhole (22 feet), JEA has temporarily closed Burnt Mill Road on either side of the work area. Traffic will be detoured around the construction area while the work is completed. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.
Construction Conditions
Construction will occur in the City’s streets, rights of way and easements. Traffic detour signs and barricades have been posted to guide vehicles around the construction area.
Crews have set-up dewatering pumps that are required to remove water from the soil prior to making any repairs. The removal of groundwater can take several days depending on area soil conditions. Once the removal of the groundwater is complete, JEA crews will be able to access the manhole to assess any damage and make repairs.
Restoration of Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin after the sewer manhole has been repaired. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, trees, grass, curb, or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
