City of Jacksonville Osceola Drainage and Roadway Improvement Project

Project Objective

The City of Jacksonville has started construction to improve the drainage and roadway on Osceola Street from Riverside Avenue to River Boulevard. As part of this City project, JEA has included the proactive replacement of portions of the water and sewer system in the City’s bid solicitation. The contractor will be replacing and upgrading 625 linear feet of existing 2-inch water main to a new 6-inch water main on Osceola Street from Riverside Avenue to River Boulevard. The contractor will also be installing two (2) new fire hydrants and 10 individual service connections to homes on Osceola Street. Some of the existing sanitary sewer services will also be replaced to the property line. Once completed, this project will increase water pressure and provide for better water/sewer service reliability and additional fire protection.

Construction Conditions

Construction will occur in the City’s rights of way and easements. There will be times when roads and driveways may have limited access. For the safety of crews and the general public, please observe all posted detour signs and directions provided by the crew. Please plan ahead for traffic delays.

Restoration of the Project Area

Restoration of the project area will be performed by COJ and will begin once the lines have been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curbs, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition. For more information on restoration of the project area, please contact (904) 630-CITY.
