Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2023-02-28
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.*
*In some circumstances, extended hours and weekends may be required.
Project Objective
JEA completed the second phase of a project and upgraded some of the electrical equipment that serves the Cobblestone neighborhood. A contractor working for JEA (Heart Utilities, Inc.) installed new protective conduit and electric cables within the community (see work area map below).
The contractor installed the new conduit with a technique called horizontal directional drilling (HDD). HDD requires very little excavation, reduces construction duration, and is less disruptive to the surrounding community. Once completed, this project will help to proactively improve the overall quality and reliability of your electric service.
Construction Conditions
Construction primarily occurred in the City of Jacksonville rights of way, roads and easements.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 begin after the new electric conduit has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways and/or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
