Commonwealth Sewer Improvement Project

Project Objective
JEA crews completed work to replace 525 linear feet of the existing 8-inch gravity sewer main and manholes within a 25 foot easement along the roadway from 5700 Commonwealth Avenue to 5638 Commonwealth Avenue.
Construction Conditions
Construction primarily occurred in the City of Jacksonville rights of way, roads and easements. The contractor was required to temporarily close one lane eastbound of Commonwealth Avenue to complete the installation of the new sanitary sewer main. These lane closures were necessary for the both the safety of the workers and the general public.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area will begin after the new sewer main has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
