Project Objective

Working in partnership with the City of Jacksonville, JEA installed a new potable water line on Cordial Drive. The funding for this project was provided by the City of Jacksonville and the construction was managed by JEA.

This project involved the installation of new water infrastructure in the City’s rights-of-way and easements, new water lines on private property, individual service connections to the water system, water meter boxes, fire hydrants, and all associated permits and fees at no cost to the property owner (see map of included parcels below). The intent of this project is to improve the quality of life for residents and enhance fire protection in the area.

JEA will operate and maintain the new water system located in the City of Jacksonville right-of-way on Cordial Drive. The JEA account holder will be responsible for the monthly water bill based on their usage. 

8/12/21 Update - Connection to JEA Water System

JEA will operate and maintain the new water system located in the right-of-way. The new water service from the JEA meter to your home will have a one-year warranty period from the day the property is connected to the system. Following the one-year warranty period, the property owner will be responsible for the portion of the water service from the water meter to the home or structure. The JEA account holder will be responsible for paying the monthly water bill once connection has been made. 

Restoration of Project Area

Restoration of the project area began after the new water line was installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any areas disturbed by construction are returned to pre-construction condition.
