Project Objective and Update

JEA has completed the project in the Deercreek neighborhood to rehabilitate the sanitary sewer system that service the community. This work included inspection and necessary repairs to all sanitary sewer manholes and lining of the sewer laterals. This work took place on Deercreek Club Road East, Vineyard Lake Road East and Chester Lake Road East.

The majority of this work was completed using a trenchless technology which allows rehabilitation of the existing pipe with minimal impact to the community. Watch a video about the trenchless lining technology.

As construction can at times be unpredictable, if we encountered a portion of the pipe that required additional rehabilitation, we utilized the traditional or “open cut” method of replacement for that portion of the line.

Please see a map of the work area below.

Restoration of the Project Area

Restoration of the project area will begin after the sewer lines have been tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.

Public Meeting - September 11th

On September 11, 2019, Council Member Danny Becton and JEA hosted an informational meeting to discuss the sanitary sewer improvement projects in the Deercreek neighborhood. This informational meeting provided residents the opportunity to learn more about these important infrastructure improvements, find out what can be expected during construction and address any questions or concerns.
