Project Objective
JEA crews replaced a portion of sanitary sewer main near 1912 Dewey Place. This work was necessary to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves your neighborhood. Failures to sewer mains can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.
Construction Conditions
Construction occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, we were required to temporarily close and detour traffic on Dewey Place while this work was completed. Please see the project work area and detour map below.

Restoration of Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the new sewer main has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned pre-construction condition.
