Gate Parkway, Baymeadows Road, Kernan Boulevard, I-295
Project Objective
The project includes the construction of two additional 12-foot travel lanes (tolled express lanes) in each direction, improving interchanges at J. Turner Butler Boulevard, Gate Parkway, Baymeadows Road, and State Road 9B, constructing noise walls along I-295 in various locations, building drainage ponds and installing electronic tolling systems at various locations for toll collection.Upon completion, this project will provide much needed capacity improvements and improve traffic conditions through the roadway corridor.
JEA Infrastructure Improvements
In an effort to resolve the conflicts between JEA’s existing utilities and the proposed roadway improvements, the utility reconstruction work will be performed by the Florida Department of Transportation's Design/Build firm via the terms of our existing Inter-Local Agreement. JEA will also be adding new water and sewer force mains within the project limits to improve the reliability of the systems.
