Friden Drive Water Improvement Project

Project Objective

JEA is designing a project to upgrade and replace the existing potable water line on Friden Drive between Ken Knight Drive East and Ken Knight Drive West. Once completed, this project will provide increased system reliability.

More information about this project will be distributed once the design is complete and nearing construction. This page will be updated with additional details as the project progresses and area residents will be notified by JEA prior to the start of construction.

Construction Areas

Construction will occur in rights-of-way and easements. During construction, there may be temporary lane closures within the project boundary. Traffic will be permitted to drive (with caution) through the construction area. Please observe all construction signs and general instructions provided by JEA or our contractor working on site.

Survey Activity

In the next few weeks, JEA crews will be in your neighborhood gathering information for this future water main project.

This survey will be used by our engineers to locate the public rights of way and the existing utilities (JEA, AT&T, BellSouth, etc.). This work will also help determine area soil and asphalt conditions. Survey crews will also be identifying wells on private property to make sure we   maintain the required distances between your well and the new pipe.

You may also notice several survey marks that will identify property, right of way boundaries, bench marks, and physical site conditions (sidewalks, tree locations, etc.). Any paint you may observe is temporary and biodegradeable. Please make every effort to avoid disturbing these markers during the survey period. The surveyors may return several times within a period of several months to collect more data.
