Estimated Dates & Work Schedule
Anticipated End Date: 2021-05-31
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
NOTE: Start and completion dates are highly subject to change and in some circumstances night and weekend hours may be necessary.
Project Objective
JEA crews replaced a portion of failing sanitary sewer main located at the intersection of Gandy Street and Smyrna Street. Failures to sewer mains can potentially cause sewer back-ups, environmental harm, and roadway issues.
Construction Conditions
Construction occurred in the City’s rights of way, streets and easements. For the safety of our crews and the general public, we were required to temporarily close and detour traffic at the intersection of Gandy Street and Smyrna Street while this work was being completed (see detour map below).
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area begins in approximately 2-3 weeks after the sewer main has been installed, tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
