Project Objective

JEA will be installing 2,700 feet of sanitary sewer force main on Hickson Road from University Boulevard to Spring Glen Road. When completed, this project will provide better sanitary sewer system reliability.　

Sanitary sewer force mains are pressurized pipes used to transport sewage to wastewater treatment plants.

Construction Conditions

Construction will be done in the City’s rights of way and easements. There will be times when your road will have limited access while the sewer main is being installed. JEA will maintain the flow of traffic, although residents
may experience some minor delays.

The sewer main will be installed with a trenchless technology called horizontal directional drilling. This method significantly reduces project construction time with minimal disruption to your landscaping, sidewalks, streets and driveways.

Water Outages

This project will not affect your current water, sewer or electric service.

Restoration of Project Area

Restoration of the project area will begin once the water lines are installed and have been tested and cleared for use. Upon completion of the project, any existing pavement, grass, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
