Project Objective
JEA crews replaced the existing water & sewer main and installed a new fire hydrant on Jasmine Place from Edgewood Avenue South to College Street. These sections of pipe had reached the end of their useful service lives and were proactively replaced to ensure the reliability of the water and sewer system that serves the neighborhood.
Failures to sewer lines can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadways issues. This project will provide increased water pressure, improved water and sewer system reliability and enhanced fire protection to the area.
Construction Conditions
Construction primarily occurred in City of Jacksonville rights-of-way, roads, and easements.
Restoration of the Project Area
Restoration of the project area typically begins 2-3 weeks after the new water & sewer main have been installed, tested and cleared for use. Any existing pavement, grass, curb, gutter, driveways or sidewalks affected during construction will be returned to its pre-construction condition.
Even Better Power Reliability
JEA's state-of-the-art technology identifies customers and neighborhoods in need of electric reliability improvements.
